In Time for Tea, Janet Gammans takes an everyday favourite and gives it her wonderfully contemporary treatment. The simple teacup sits amongst layers of smoky grey, soft blue, cream and earthy brown, punctuated by hand-drawn marks, dotted patterns and expressive brushwork.

There’s an almost collage-like quality to the composition, with different textures and shapes revealing themselves the longer you look. The handwritten ‘tea’ adds another playful detail, giving this original a relaxed personality that feels perfectly at home in a kitchen or dining space.
