Two Mice in a Conker by David Meredith is a characterful open edition bronze sculpture that captures two small mice nestled together inside a protective conker shell. Their curled forms, delicate paws and winding tails reflect the artist’s close observation of wildlife and remarkable attention to detail.

Cast in bronze, the sculpture combines a richly patinated outer shell with the warm brown tones of the mice within. The contrast between the spiked exterior and the sheltered interior brings depth and interest to the composition, while the removable lid reveals the quietly endearing scene hidden inside.

A familiar symbol of autumn and childhood memories, the conker becomes a small sanctuary. Meredith brings gentle humour and tenderness to this natural form, creating a piece that rewards a closer look. Displayed open or closed, it offers two distinctive ways to enjoy the sculpture.

Part of David Meredith’s much-loved collection of wildlife bronzes, Two Mice in a Conker is a thoughtful choice for nature lovers and collectors who appreciate finely observed detail and sculpture with a story to tell.
